I hear "uplifting" used often to describe this performance, but the actual lyrics are pretty pessimistic - having your dreams crushed and living a life of hell. The last stanza:

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

Adds to the poignancy of the performance as it is easy to see how she is singing about her own life
